New Features


  • Mid Stream Flow ModificationThe workflow pdf can now be edited throughout the routing process, including after approvals. Use the replace file button to upload the updated pdf at any point during the routing process. Signature zones will be automatically added to the new pdf





  • Outside NIH VPN Document Request: The External Document Request feature allows users to send secure emails to individuals outside of the NIH VPN to request documents that will be added to the source workflow. 



  • Copy A WorkFlow: This feature allows users to copy an existing workflow which replicates the routing network and template information for a new workflow. The two workflows are then linked to each other.

  • VF/IRTA Telework feature: A new standard template/form was added under the new FLOW forms dropdown. This template allows for VF/IRTA employees to fill out a standard form and initiate a new workflow that routes to the supervisor and authorizing official with signature zones automatically added.  

  • Training with a Cost Data Collection: A new standard template/form was added under the new FLOW forms dropdown. This template allows for non-licensed employees to access and fill out the form in Beacon and submit for approval via Flow. Data is collected on the cost and provided as a report in Flow.



  • My Inbox Home Page Setting: Users can now identify the My Inbox page to be their preferred home page. This setting is per user and will update their landing page when navigating to Flow. 

  • Routing Notes: Routing notes added to the template are now included in step one of the workflow and in the email messages. 

  • Is Urgent Flag: Users can now identify workflows as urgent which highlights this information on the dashboard and in email communications. 


  • Improved Searching: On the Flow dashboard we added a smart search box that filters by any on-screen text included in the data table. This allows users to search by who initiated or the title or anything else included on the screen.
