Every user can create their own Account custom view using the Ad-Hoc Accounts tool. This video and subsequent article detail how to create a custom view.

How to Create an Ad-Hoc View

1. Checkmark the accounts from the Accounts page that you want to be included in your new view

       a. Note that you can select from Summary Accounts and CANs

2. Right-click anywhere in the data grid

3. Select Ad-Hoc View

This will load a new page with the selected accounts listed. The existing account structure hierarchy will be removed. In other words, the folders of summary accounts have been simplified to only list the accounts selected.

Note that the organization of columns on the Ad-Hoc view is identical to the main Accounts page. To change the columns in any way (add/remove/reorganize), you will need to navigate back to the Accounts page to change your settings there. For more information, please review the article How to Customize Columns.

How to return to the Ad-Hoc View

If you navigate to another screen or exit the Beacon application, your Ad-Hoc view will persist. You can locate your custom Ad-Hoc view by following the below steps:

  1. Click the Accounts Tab dropdown
  2. Select Ad-Hoc View

How to Modify Accounts on the Ad-Hoc View

You can change the Accounts selected for your custom view in two ways.

To start over and select entirely new accounts, repeat the steps found under "How to Create an Ad-Hoc View". After completing those three steps, a new view will be created, and the original view will be lost.

To modify accounts by adding or removing accounts, click the Modify Accounts button.

A pop-up window will load that mimics the main Accounts page for you to add/remove accounts. To add an account, checkmark the new accounts. To remove an account, uncheck mark the account. Finally, click "Update Ad-Hoc View"

To find an account, you can use the search bar to search by the name or number of the account. If you still cannot find the account, please check the view you are using to confirm the account exists in this view.
