Notifications alert you and your colleagues when a forecast record needs attention, for example when a POP End Date is approaching or a record changes phase. Alerts are set up on forecast records, and each subscriber receives an email and an in-app message.
How it fits together
- The Notification Catalog defines the types of alert available (for example “POP End Date in 60 days”).
- On each forecast record, you subscribe people to one or more of those alert types.
- When the trigger happens, each subscriber gets an email and sees the alert under Notifications → Notifications and on the Dashboard's Notifications tab.
Subscribe people to a forecast record

- Open the record and click the bell button in the header, or click the bell in the Actions column of the Forecasts list.
- Click ADD.
- Choose a Notification.
- Add Subscribers by typing names, or choose an Email Group to add all of its members.
- Click Save.
The bell shows two numbers, for example 1/2: how many alerts will fire for this record, and how many people will receive at least one. Paused alerts are not counted.
In the same window you can pause or resume an alert for everyone, pause or resume one subscriber, or unsubscribe a person. Unsubscribing also removes their past messages for that record and cannot be undone.
Alert types available when subscribing
- Date Approaching – fires a set number of days before the POP End Date, Target Solicitation Date, or Target Award Date. Up to three lead times (for example 90, 60, and 30 days) can be set per alert type, so larger renewals can get earlier warning.
- Forecast Phase Changed – fires when the record moves to a different phase.
- Field Value Changed – fires when the record's PCAIS #, Contract or Task Order #, or POTS Requisition # changes. (The catalog also lists PAA-DER Approval, PAA-DER Request ID #, and Contracting Officer as tracked fields, but alerts for those are not yet active.)
Contract Document Extracted also appears in the list, but alerts for it are not currently delivered to forecast-record subscribers. The other trigger types in the Notification Catalog (General Reminder, Contract Status Changed, Official Document Uploaded/Linked, Supporting Document Uploaded, Purchase Request Emailed) cannot currently be subscribed to.
Manage the Notification Catalog
Under Notifications → Notification Catalog, click Add a New Notification and enter a Title, Trigger Type, Trigger/Description, and Message Content. For Date Approaching, also choose the tracked date field and enter the lead times in days, largest first (each between 1 and 364).
Each catalog entry can be switched between Active and Suspended. Suspended alerts do not fire. The catalog shows how many forecast records use each alert and how many messages it has sent. Check with your IC whether catalog changes should be made by a designated person.
Email Groups
Under Notifications → Email Groups, click Create Group, name it (for example “AO Group”), and use Manage Members to add people. Groups make it quick to subscribe the same people to many records. Use Test Email to confirm the group receives mail.
See your alerts

The Dashboard's Notifications tab shows your five latest alerts. Click View All Notifications, or choose Notifications → Notifications in the menu, for the full list with dates.
