Overview

Views can only be edited/reorganized by Account Administrators. Use the View Rights page (Admin --> Manage Views --> View Rights) to review which users can modify each view.

While the Master View has no restrictions to editing some child views may have some restrictions. When a Summary Account is copied from a Parent View to a Child View that folder is locked to edits in the Child View. Edits that would be restricted include adding accounts to the folder, removing accounts in the folder, or reorganizing accounts in the folder.

For example, if a Summary Account labeled Intramural was created in the master view and the contents of the folder were copied to a child view then the contents of the Summary Account Intramural cannot be edited in the child view and must be edited in the Master View. Any edits to the Intramural Account will be reflected immediately in the child view. If an Account has a green dot icon it can be edited (accounts can be added/removed/reorganized). In the below example both the Intramural Research and Test folders can be edited while the Office of the Chief Folder can only be edited at the parent view.

Check Mark New Location

Users can use the check mark feature combined with the right-click menu to select the destination for where selected accounts should be inserted.

1. Check mark the account(s) you want to move.

2. Right Click an Account Title and select Move Account(s)

3. After clicking select Move Account(s) a new yellow pop-up will appear. Step 1 will list the accounts that you checked marked at the beginning of this process.

4. Select the destination account. In the left-hand table click the summary account folder that the checked marked accounts will be moved to. Once a summary account is selected Step 2 will identify the Destination Account

5. Click Finish Move. The accounts listed in Step 1 will be moved to the account selected in Step 2

Drag and Drop

The left-hand table of accounts can be reorganized by dragging and dropping accounts into new locations within the View. You can move either a single account or multiple accounts at once.

Drag:

To move one account, click and hold anywhere in the account title row. You will notice the account title appears to be grayed out and follow your mouse.

To move multiple accounts at once first checkmark the accounts that you wish to move. The accounts can be located anywhere in the view.

Now that you have grabbed the account begin to drag the account up or down the View

Drop: As you drag the account throughout the view you will be able to drop the account anywhere within the top level (aka not in a folder) or you can drop the account into a folder with a green icon (all master view folders will have a green icon. If the View is a child view, then folders that are copied from a parent view will not have a green icon. These folders can only be edited at the parent view)

As you hover the account over a folder the folder will open. Before dropping the account into a folder wait until you see the arrow icon confirm the location you are dropping the account. (see screenshot below)

If you see the stop symbol (see screenshot below) then the account cannot be dropped into the location you are hovering. Move the account until you see the arrow icon as indicated by the screenshot above, If you attempt to drop an account when this icon is present the account will land back where it originally was "picked up".

Next, grab one of the accounts check-marked by clicking and holding an account title row and complete the steps above for dragging and dropping a single account
