The Funds Balance Report groups transaction data by Fund, Fund Year, and CAN.
To find the Funds Balance Report click on the Funds tab.
The report starts initially grouped by parent funds found in the view you are using. If you are viewing the Master View you will see all Funds. The ---- found in the middle of each fund is a placeholder for the FY. For example, 150066----1A1D is the parent fund for 15006620201A1D and 15006620211A1D.
Click the sideways triangle icon to the left of the parent fund name to expand to the FY fund data. Repeat this step at the FY fund level to expand the CANs.
To open all Funds down to the CAN level at once click on the open all folders icon.
What Data is Displayed?
Limit to Current FY
CAN's can contain transaction data from multiple FY. For example, in 2022 a transaction can download into Beacon that reimburses a $1000 obligation from 2021 for CAN 801010. In this case, the 2022 rollup for CAN 801010 will be less $1000. You can ignore this transaction by having the Limit Obligations to Current budget FY check marked. This will ensure that only the current FY data is included in your roll-up report.
Distributed Fund Amount?
This data point is downloaded directly from nVision and represents the amount that was distributed to the top-level Fund.
Budget
This value is manually entered, rolled up, and tracked by Beacon. In Beacon, budgets are entered at the summary account level and distributed down. You can click on the Budget dollar amount to edit or view the Budget for an account. To learn more please read the section related to Budgets.
Commitment/Obligation/Accural/Disbursment
Various dollar types that are automatically rolled up from transaction-level detail. You can click on the Obligation dollar amount, which will navigate you to the transaction page with the correct filters preset (Fund, FY, CAN)
Funding Remaining
A Beacon calculated field equal to (Distributed Fund Amount - Obligation)
Budget Remaining
A Beacon calculated field equal to (Budget - Obligation)
